Helen Grace wins 4th and 5th Gold Award

I was awarded 2 Gold Awards from The Societies last month. One is my 3rd Gold Award from my coverage of the Winter Paralympics earlier this year in Vancouver, and shows Gerd Gradwohl of Germany taking a tumble during the Men's Downhill competition. Gerd is a veteran alpine skier, at 50, who is visually-impaired and has competed in previous Paralympics and despite catching his skis at the finish line finished in the Bronze Medal position in the Downhill.

The other Gold is from the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Paralympics held at the BC Stadium in Vancouver.

Both these images will go forward to the Annual International Societies Competition in their respective categories. Helen Grace currently has 3 photographs in the International Sports Photographer of the Year Competition to be judged in January 2010.
