Helen Grace wins another Gold Award
04th June 2010

Helen Grace won another Gold Award, this time, an image from her recent trip to Vancouver to cover the Tenth Winter Paralympics. The photograph shows Austrian skier, Christoph Prettner, falling spectacularly in the Mens Downhill for Visually Impaired skiers. Christoph, who skies with a guide just a few metres in front of him, finished 6th despite this fall at the finish line.
The photograph, mounted on sheet aluminium, a process specially undertaken for Helen Grace in the United States and shipped to the UK in time for the recent Bear Flat Open Studios was a big success with visitors. A big screen slideshow of highlights from the Paralympics was also a popular attraction, and not just for those interested in sport. See a selection of images from the Games in the Portfolio section.
This award qualifies Helen Grace for the Societies International Sports Photographer of the Year competition to be judged in January 2011.
